[These daily posts will cover little known actors or people that have appeared in more recent films and TV series. Various degrees of information that I was able to find will be given and anything that you can add would be appreciated.]
Alfredo Danesi was a member of the Danesi family of coach builders and stuntmen and wranglers. The Danesi Brothers coach mfg. built 18 chariots for the 1959 film “Ben Hur”. Their firm also built many stagecoaches, buckboards and other rigs during the Spaghetti western era. The brothers and their offspring were also excellent horsemen as horses were needed to pull the coaches they built.
Alfredo appeared in five films as a stuntman beginning in 1959 and as a chariot master performing stunts in “Ben Hur” and three films as an actor, once again beginning with “Ben Hur”.
Alfredo was the father of actors/stuntmen Antonio and Roberto Danesi.
Alfredo appeared in “Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo” (The Good, the Bad and the Ugly) as a stunt double for Eli Wallach. I’m sure he probably appeared uncredited in several more.
