Little Known Spaghetti Western actors ~ Esteban Dalmases

[These daily posts will cover little known actors or people that have appeared in more recent films and TV series. Various degrees of information that I was able to find will be given and anything that you can add would be appreciated.]

Esteban Dalmases is/was a Spanish supporting and character actor most likely born in the early 1930s in Barcelona, Spain. He appeared in 39 films between his first appearance in 1969’s “Marquis de Sade's Justine” and his last appearance in 1982’s “La rebelión de los pájaros”. Other than his having appeared in fotonovelos, very little appears to be known about this easily recognizable actor, a middle-aged mustached gent with thick hair, long sideburns and (except in westerns) glasses. Only a few films appear to credit him, but he actually appeared anonymously in many more, either as a bit player or a speechless extra. In Barcelona westerns he was invariably or almost invariably a deputy or other lawman. In films with a modern setting, he often played cops.

Estaban appeared in at least eight Spaghetti westerns that I know of: “Una cuerda al amanecer” (A Cry of Death) as a street vendor, “Sei già cadavere amigo…ti cerca Garringo” (Dig Your Grave Friend... Sabata's Coming) as Deputy Tom, “Un colt por 4 cirios” (4 Candles for My Colt) as a deputy all in 1971, “Il mio nome è Scopone e faccio sempre cappotto” (Dallas) as a Brownsville Deputy, “Dio in cielo... Arizona in terra” (God in Heaven… Arizona on Earth) as a rancher, “Tu fosa será la exacta... amigo” (My Horse, My Gun, Your Widow) as a deputy, “La caza del oro” (Too Much Gold for One Gringo) as a Travers’ henchman all in 1972 and as a deputy in 1974’s “Tres forajidos y un pistolero” (Spikes Gang).
