RIP Rainer Brandt

German actor, voice artist, and dialogue book author Rainer Brandt died at his home in Berlin, Germany on August 1, 2024. He was 88. Over the decades, Brandt born in Berlin on January 19, 1936, lent his German voice to numerous entertainment legends, including Elvis Presley, Tony Curtis, and Jean-Paul Belmondo. He also provided the dialogue for the Italian acting duo Terence Hilland Bud Spencer in the German versions of their films. He was best known in Germany for his work in the 1970s and 1980s, when he adapted many films, especially Italian and Spanish productions, very freely and embellished the dialog with quick lines and lots of slapstick. This often led to more serious films becoming comedies. Brandt, together with his colleague Karlheinz Brunnemann, contributed to the success of certain people and series in the German-speaking world. He lent his voice to several dozen Euro-westerns over the years.
