José Luis Alcaine, will be given the ‘Tabernas de Cinema’ award at the upcoming 13th Almeria Western Film Festival. During his career he has worked on more than 150 films, nominated for 21 Goya Awards and winner of five. The award will be presented on Saturday October 14 in Fort Bravo Texas Hollywood.
"Almeria, and more particularly Tabernas, is one of the mythical places of the Westerns that I have participated in, and it is attached in my memory of cinephile to Western, Italian, North American or Spanish cinema in which my love for cinema was formed. I feel deeply brothered to Taverns and their welcoming inhabitants," Alcaine has moved.
Alcaine was cinematographer on three Spaghetti westerns:
“Rustlers’ Rhapsody” (1985) “Il mio West” (aka Gunslinger’s Revenge) (1998) and
this year’s “Strange Way of Life”.
