Who Are Those Guys? ~ Klaus Dahlen

 

Klaus Dahlen was born in Berlin, German on May 23, 1938.  The trained carpenter and commercial artist came to acting as an extra at the Deutsche Opera and at the Schillertheater in Berlin. His childhood friend Harald Juhnke proved to be a inspirational supporter. From then on, Dahlen was a busy theater actor.

Klaus made his screen debut in the 1957 film “Endstation Liebe” starring Horst Buchholz. Dahlen became known to a wide audience as a curly headed, somewhat clumsy but good-natured fat man through numerous supporting roles in films and television plays from the 1960s onwards. In the last episodes of the well-known TV series ‘Ein Herz und Eine Seele’ he replaced Diether Krebs in the role of disgusting Alfred's son-in-law. He gained particular popularity through the ARD television series ‘Klimbim’ (1973-1979).

Dahlen has also worked in the TV series ‘Two Heavenly Daughters’, ‘It Doesn't Always have to be Caviar’, ‘The Commissioner’, ‘The Men from K3’, ‘Coast Guard’, ‘Alphateam’ and ‘Tatort’ as well as in a total of 35 feature films.

He died of a heart attack after a serious physical collapse on May 16, 2006 in Baden-Baden, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. He was a week short of his 68th birthday. Klaus was married twice and left two sons.
