Daniel Belton Sturkie Jr. was born in Lexington South
Carolina on January 5, 1924. He was a film, TV and voice actor in both American
and Italian films. Dan made some U.S.A. television appearances during the
mid-1950s and then apparently moved to Rome and had an uncredited role in
“Barabbas” (1961). His primary line of work in Italy was as a dubbing actor who
appeared in several films in some small supporting parts. Dan appeared in five
Euro-westerns all with Terence Hill. He first appeared in “Boot Hill” (1969) as
a miner but was best remembered for his appearance as Tobias in “They Call Me
Trinity” (1970) his last Euro-western was in 1972’s “Man of the East” where
he’s briefly seen as a dice player. Dan returned to the United States where he
died in Los Angeles, California on May 10, 1992.
