Carlo Croccolo was born on April 9, 1927 in Naples, Italy. He began his artistic career in 1950, playing Don Ciccillo si gode il sole, in the theater L'Anfiparnaso, directed by Mario Soldati, and in the cinema in the film I cadetti di Guascogna.
In the 1950’s and 1960’s he starred in many films with some of the greatest Italian comedians, including 47 morto che parla, Miseria e nobiltà, Totò lascia o raddoppia? e Signori si nasce with Totò, Ragazze da marito with Eduardo De Filippo, Non è vero... ma ci credo with Peppino De Filippo. In total he appeared in 118 films, including Vittorio De Sica 's Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow , A Yellow Rolls-Royce with Ingrid Bergman , Casotto by Sergio Citti , 'O re by Luigi Magni (David di Donatello and Ciak d'oro Best Supporting Actor in 1988), Leone Pompucci 's Waiters , Three men and one leg with the trio Aldo, Giovanni and Giacomo and Li called ... briganti! by Pasquale Squitieri,
In 1971 he wrote and directed the westerns A Gun for a Hundred Crosses and Black Killer , signing them under the pseudonym Lucky Moore.
He won the David di Donatello in 1989 for his performance in the film 'O re.
He started appearing as a television actor in 1956 and continued into 2010. As well as an actor in Italian theater presentations.
Croccolo was also a dubber and voice actor He dubbed several Laurel and Hardy films as the voice of mainly Oliver Hardy but sometimes both.
He died in Naples on October 12, 2019 at the age of 92.
