TEMPE, Feb. 22 – Walter (Piggy) Barnes, veteran line backer of the professional Philadelphia Eagles, Friday agreed to assist Larry Siemering in Arizona State College at Tempe spring football practice.
Drills begin March 3.
Barnes will serve as defensive coach. Others on the Sun Devil grid staff besides Siemering, after the recent shakeup are Don Campora and John Rohde. Wilford (Whizzer) White, former Tempe college star now a member of the Chicago Bears, may assist in spring training.
Rohde, graduate of College of the Pacific, has agreed to term as end mentor.
Barnes twice won all-conference recognition with the Eagles.
