From a screenplay by Angio Zane
(Okay Sheriff), the short film was presented at the Venice exhibition in 1965, and is a very rare
example of a spaghetti-western patchwork. The film assembles the TV carousels
(commercials) of the Negroni Salami Company, that Zane produced and directed
since the 1950s under the umbrella title "The Sheriff of the Silver Valley",
and is definitely a pillar of Italian popular television memory. Zane, always
in the wake of the Masked Rider, also mixes in a tot, with the comic Tex and The Little
Ranger, delivering a light film, free of violence and designed for the whole
family. It is an uninteresting work but highly sought after among collectors of
the western genre today.
