Italian singer, songwriter, stage,
film, TV actor Lino Toffolo died in his hometown of Murano, Venice, Italy on
May18th. He was 81. After his birth December 30, 1934, he moved to Milan where
he obtained his first success in "Derby Club", performing the
character of the drunkard who sang his songs in Venetian dialect. Toffolo made
his film debut in 1968, in Chimera. He appeared in 24 titles between 1968 and
1978, including his only Euro-western “In the Name of the Father” (1969) in the
role of Paul). He appeared in films by Dino Risi, Mario Monicelli, Salvatore
Samperi, Pasquale Festa Campanile, then focused his works on stage and on
television.
