Javier Botet was born in Ciudad
Real, Ciudad Real, Spain on July 30, 1977. Botet is the son of Agustin Andres
Rodriguez and Maria del Carmen Lopez Nieto Servilia. After living his first
five years in his hometown, he moved to live another five years to Cuenca,
followed by two years in Almeria and finally to Granada where he lived until
completing his studies in Fine Arts in 2001. In 2002 he moved to Madrid where
he lived until 2009. At the age of 5 Javier was diagnosed with Marfan syndrome,
and is involved in Madrid to solve his pectus excavatum, at age 20 he developed
back problems and at 28 aortic complications of this disease. Hypermobility of certain tissues that leads
to this syndrome give extremely long, slender fingers and a height of 2 meters
and a peculiar physical aspect he wanted to be an actor and was offered his
first film opportunity in a horror film directed by Brian Yuzna: “Beneath Still
Water” (2005); After this he followed
his special success, especially in “Rec” (2007), directed by Jaume Balagueró
and Paco Plaza; He has also acted as an
occasional actor in numerous television serials such as ‘Plant 25’, ‘The Looming’,
‘Genesis’, ‘Los hombres de Paco’ and ‘Pluto BRB Nero’. In 2010 Botet embodies
the role of Frankenstein (actually two actors play the monster) in the stage
adaptation titled Frankenstein, directed by Gustavo Tambascio in which he shares
the bill with players like Raul Peña and Eduardo Casanova. The play was
performed at the Canal Theatre of Madrid.
He appeared in the haunting play "Mama" from the hit movie
Mama produced by Guillermo del Toro released in 2013. On the horizon is a film
with Neve Campbell and Dougray Scott called “Division 19”.
