Happy 80th Birthday Giovanni Fago


Giovanni Fago was born on April 25, 1933 in Rome, Italy. He began his career in cinema in 1959 as an assistant director to, among others, Mario Monicelli, Camillo Mastrocinque, Vittorio De Sica, Renato Castellani, Joseph L. Mankiewicz and Lucio Fulci. In 1967 he became a director, consecutively filming two spaghetti westerns, “Vengeance is Mine (1966), “Full House for the Devil (1968), and the South American western “O' Canga├žeiro” (1970). During the 1970s and the 1980s he focused primarily on television work. Now retired the last film Fago directed was “Pontormo: A Heretical Love” (2004). Today we celebrate Giovanni Fago’s 80th birthday.
