In
conjunction with the 26th Leeds International Film Festival, Lee Broughton has
programmed - and will introduce - a double bill of 'Django' films.
Quentin
Tarantino's upcoming Western 'Django Unchained' takes its main inspiration from
a popular sub-cycle of Italian Westerns from the 1960s and 1970s that featured
a variety of gunmen called 'Django'. Since worldwide interest in these
particular 'Spaghetti Westerns' is currently running high, Lee has programmed a
double bill of two classic 'Django' films as part of the Leeds International
Film Festival's 'Fanomenon' strand.
'Django'
(Sergio Corbucci, Italy/Spain, 1966) and 'Django Kill!' ('Se sei vivo
spara', Giulio Questi, Italy/Spain, 1967) will screen at the Hyde Park Picture
House, Leeds on Tuesday 6th November.
'Django' begins
at 14:15
'Django
Kill!' begins at 16:00
