Remembering Burt Kennedy

Burt Raphael Kennedy was born on September 3, 1922 in Muskegon, Michigan. Kennedy was a prolific writer and director of Western films and television shows, including “Support Your Local Gunfighter” (1971), "The War Wagon" (1967) and several other John Wayne films. He wrote more than a dozen Westerns, including "Seven Men From Now", which was released in 1956 and starred Randolph Scott. In all Burt was involved with over 70 films and TV teleplays.

Kennedy directed four Euro-westerns: “The Canadians” (1961), “Return of the Severn” (1966), “Hannie Caulder” (1970) and “The Deserter” (1971)
