Vida Jerman was born in Zagreb on April 28,1939. She graduated in acting from the Academy of Dramatic Art, but she studied English, Italian and Spanish at the Faculty of Arts. In October 1997, with a group of actors from Zagreb she founded a registered theater troupe Ponte (Bridge), for which she was the art director. Jerman was also a longtime member of the World Esperanto Association (UEA) and she was an expert delegate to the theater, and in June 1997, was awarded the Order of Croatian for her contribution to theater arts, and for special merit in presenting Croatian culture in the country and abroad. For the last few decades Vida Jerman was a member of the Theatre Cherry and played in a series of performances for children and adolescents. Vida appeared as a saloon girl in the 1968 Euro-western "Winnetou and Shatterhand in the Valley of Death".
