Remembering Glauco Onorato
Glauco Onorato was born on December 7, 1936 in Turin, Italy. He became famous in Italy primarily as a great voice actor (among the Americans he dubbed into Italian were, Sydney Poitier and Arnold Schwarzenegger in ”Terminator”, and was the Italian voice Bud Spencer. But Italian television audiences knew him well as an actor. His characters, have always been rough men, sometimes cruel and violent, most often champions of Justice. Among his films he appeared in five Euro-westerns such as “The Magnificent Texan” (1967), “Boot Hill” (1969) and “Viva Django” (1970). He also dubbed into Italian several more. Glauco died December 31, 2009 in a San Camillo hospital in Rome after a long illness, he was married to actress Maria Virginia Onorato and left the world of cinema a son, Richard [1966- ] and a daughter Sarah [1977- ], both actors and voice dubbers. Today we remember Glauco Onorato on what would have been his 75th birthday.
