Remembering Elio Crovetto
Elio Crovetto was born on December 6, 1926 in Milan, Italy. He was a character actor specializing in comedy roles, appearing in some fifty films of various kinds as musicals, adventure, comedy, and parody films Italian westerns and Italian erotic comedy. He also worked in German films. Elio also had a decent career as an operetta actor in Trieste, and he worked in the theater with Ugo Tognazzi, Walter Chiari, Macarius, and the Nava sisters Nava, especially in Milan, his hometown, and Genoa, the city where he lived and died. Crovetto also appeared on television, in both Italy and France. Elio appeared in two Euro-westerns; “The Sheriff” and “The Terror of Oklahoma” (both 1959). Crovetto died on November 8, 2000 in Genoa. Today we remember Elio Crovetto on what would have been his 85th birthday.
