Happy 75th Birthday Stella Stevens
Estelle Caro Eggleston was born on Ocotber 1, 1936 in Yazoo City, Mississippi. She first appeared on stage in "Li’l Abner" (1959) before signing a contract with Paramount Pictures and then with Columbia Pictures. In 1960 she shared a Golden Globe Award for Most Promising Newcomer - Female with Tuesday Weld, Angie Dickinson and Janet Munro. In 1960 Stella was Playboy’s ‘Playmate of the Month’ for January. Named one of the 100 sexiest stars of the 20th Century at #27 she is one of the most photographed women in the world. She appeared with Elvis in "Girls, Girls, Girls" (1962), and with Jerry Lewis in "The Nutty Professor" (1966). She's probably best remembered by western fans as Hildy in Sam Peckinpah’s film "The Ballad of Cable Hogue" (1970) starring Jason Robards. Stella’s also appeared on many TV series as a guest and was a regular on "Flamingo Road" (1981-1982) and "Santa Barbara" (1989-1990). The mother of director, actor Andrew Stevens, Stella appeared in only one Euro-western "A Town Called Hell" (1971). Today we celebrate one of the most beautiful and nicest women in Hollywood Stella Stevens on her 75th birthday.
