RIP Jeannette Batti
French actress Jeannette Batti passed away on February 10, 2011 in Courbevoie, a suburb of Paris, France. She was 89. Born Henriette Eugénie Genot on September 6, 1921 in Marseille, France she began appearing in films in 1945 and made more then 35 films until her retirement in 1983. Two of her best known films were “Le Père Noël est une ordure” with Bourvil and Jean Gabin and the musical “Trois de la Canebière” both in 1956. Jeannette would go on to appear in four TV series and TV movies between 1968 and 1983. Batti also appeared on stage in operettas and plays. She met actor singer Henri Genes [1919-2005] in 1948 and they were soon married. They appeared together many times in film and theater. Jeanette appeared in one Euro-western as Mrs. Bridleford in “River Pirates of the Mississippi” (1963) credited as Jeannette Batty, with Brad Harris and Horst Frank.
