Hans Elwenspoek was born on July 8, 1910 in Köthen, Germany. Hans was the oldest child of director/actor Curt Elwenspoek [1884-1959]. When he was old enough he received acting training from Ernst Legal in Berlin. He made his stage debut in 1930 at the Wuerttemberg State Theatre Esslingen. Later he appeared on stage in Stuttgart, Munich and Berlin. In the 1950s he could be heard and then seen on radio and television. Hans appeared in only one Euro-western “Beyond the Law” in 1967 as Mr. Davis/Abe Pick alongside Lee Van Cleef. Hans died in Bonn, Germany on January 13, 1989. Today we remember Hans Elwenspoek on what would have been his 100th birthday.
