Spaghetti Western Locations for “Day of Anger”

We continue our search for filming locations for “Day of Anger”. After the stable scene we see the inside of Talby’s new gambling saloon ‘The 45” and people placing bets at the roulette wheel. Talby sits at a table and is gambling and winning at Blackjack with Scott watching from behind. Gwen is now working in the saloon and steps out for some air. She  sees two deputies in the street in front of Talby’s saloon. She tells Scott who asks Talby what to do. He tells Slim to go to the upstairs window and Scott to go out the back and to be careful

This scene was filmed on the Cinecitta western set in Rome and in the saloon.

New Leone documentary film

Pulse Films and Leone Film Groups combine for documentary to celebrate Sergio Leone.

Pulse Films and Leone Group have announced the project of a documentary about Sergio Leone, with the direction and script by Francesco Zippel. Pulse Films will co-producer the documentary through its new subsidiary Pulse Films Italia.

“This project we have been working on for some time with Francesco Zippel who will direct it, exciting us and deeply involving us for obvious reasons – says Raffaella Leone, CEO of Leone Film Group – We are therefore very excited to announce that we have reached a co-production agreement with Pulse Films, with whom we will work side by side to create an innovative and wide ranging documentary like the man and the cinema whose story he will tell. Once again we thank Gianluca Farinelli and Cinecteca di Bologna for their precious help.

The film will benefit from exclusive material from the Cineteca di Bologna, which recently organized a highly successful exhibition dedicated to Sergio Leone both in Paris at the Cinematheque Francaise and in Rome at the Ara Pacis. Gianluca Farinelli and his team have conducted a careful research to recover Sergio Leone related material that will be available for the film

Spaghetti Western Trivia ~ Pecos meets Dracula

In the June 5th ‘Once Upon a Time in Spaghetti Westerns” podcast our guest Robert Woods told co-host Jay Jennings that when he was working in Los Angeles, California early in his career, he and a couple other buddies shared a apartment and they found out that the place was owned and managed by film star Bela Lugosi. When asked what he was like, Robert explained he was just a regular guy, didn’t wear a cape, and was pleasant to deal with. I don’t believe he had to say, “Your rent is due” more than once.
