Who Are Those Gals? - Claire Borotra




Claire France-Marie Borotra was born in Boulonge-Billancourt, Île de France, France on September 5, 1973. The daughter of politician Franck Borotra [1937- ] and niece of tennis player Jean Borotra [1898-1994]. From ages 9 to 12, she studied classical dance at the Dance School of the Paris Opera.  She is currently separated from the actor Jerome Anger [1958- ] with whom she has two children, a daughter named Helis in 2001 and a boy named Arthur in 2007.

In 1993, at the age of 19, she was offered her first role in ‘Honorin et l'enfant prodigue’ a TV movie where she played alongside Franck Dubosc.  After the experience Claire decided to turn to the cinema and theater where she joined in 1995 the cast of the play “The Raft of the Medusa”.

The following year, she starred Pierre Arditi in the film “Gentlemen Children”. During the following years, Borotra had a string of roles in films and especially on television. In 2003, TF1 broadcast its soap opera ‘The Blue Ocean’, where she appeared in the role of Talia Vargas, the heroine of the series.  The pace of her participation in TV series continues to accelerate until 2007 when Claire Borotra accepted a new role, that of TV presenter for the show ‘You Gotta Breath’ broadcast on TPS Star.  In 2011, she became the heroine of the new police series on France Télévisions, ‘Antigone 34’. In September 2014, viewers see her face in the new TV movie in two parts of France. 3: ‘Missing’ alongside Vincent Perez.

Claire’s lone Euro-western at this point of her career was as the teacher in 2006’s “Big City”.
