The French company Atlantique Productions and Italy's Cattleya responsible for Gomorrah, today announced an agreement to co-produce a television series based on Sergio Corbucci’s western Django.
For Django, there is talk of a reimagining of the original story starring Franco Nero, in which our hero goes looking for revenge for the murder of his wife.
The series, in English, will last in principle, for 12 episodes each lasting 50 minutes, with the intention of the producers is to have multiple seasons.
Directors, showrunners, and casts have yet to be announced. Now in development stage, it will be shopped to broadcasters at the upcoming Mip TV mart in Cannes. Atlantique Productions’ Olivier Bibas and creative director Patrick Nebout will act as executive producers, alongside Cattleya partners Riccardo Tozzi, Giovanni Stabilini and Marco Chimenz.
