When he hears his brother has been killed in a gunfight with another man he takes a chance and crosses over the border. Knowing his brother never carried he intends on finding his brother’s murderer. After a shootout with bounty hunters he arrives in Rimrock, a town controlled by Luke Starr. Starr is the man he wants but he’s unable to find any evidence until he is given an item found by his brother's body. It’s a rowel that matches the ones on Luke Starr’s holster that just happens to missing one. Jess confronts Luke at his saloon and after another shootout with Starr’s henchmen he goes one on one with Starr and kills him.
